Overview

Voodoo Cafe sits strategically at the Wellington Street entrance to Raine Square, offering a convenient retreat in Perth’s bustling city center. This coffee shop has carved a niche for itself with its focus on strong, well-crafted coffee and a selection of fresh pastries. Located at 10/300 Murray Street Mall, it caters to both the early commuter and the casual shopper looking for a quick caffeine fix.

The cafe’s core appeal lies in its diverse coffee menu, featuring staple favorites like takeaway cappuccinos and large flat whites, alongside cold brew options that appeal to those seeking a refreshing pick-me-up. The takeaway service is notably efficient, making it ideal for busy individuals who value quality coffee without the wait. Beyond coffee, Voodoo Cafe offers a variety of pastries—croissants, both plain and filled, as well as cakes like carrot and lemon meringue—that complement the drinks nicely. These pairings enhance the overall experience, balancing indulgence and practicality.

The vibe inside Voodoo Cafe is modern and slightly edgy, with a funky décor that resonates with a youthful, urban crowd. The space is relatively snug, meaning seating can be limited, but the nearby shopping center provides ample alternatives for those who want to linger. The cafe’s proximity to bus and train stations makes it an accessible stop for commuters, reinforcing its role as a convenient urban hub.

Customer experiences reflect a mix of perspectives, highlighting strengths and minor drawbacks. Many praise the quality and authenticity of the coffee, noting that size options feel just right. The friendly and apologetic staff contribute positively to the service atmosphere, addressing occasional operational hiccups with professionalism. On the downside, the location’s urban setting means that outside noise and street activity can intrude, limiting the cafe’s appeal as a quiet spot for conversation.

Voodoo Cafe seems to attract a varied clientele—from loyal locals looking for a dependable mid-morning coffee stop to visitors exploring Perth’s café culture. Those who prioritize strong coffee served quickly, along with fresh bakery offerings and a lively environment, will find this cafe meets their needs well. Though some customers seek a quieter or more refined experience, Voodoo Cafe’s strengths lie in its consistency, extended hours, and convenient city-center access.

For anyone navigating the heart of Perth and craving a robust coffee with a reliable takeaway service, Voodoo Cafe stands out as a smart choice. Its balance of quality, speed, and location integrates well with the urban rhythms of the city, making it a noteworthy destination despite some minor trade-offs common to inner-city cafes.

Thought I would try something different today and I was not disappointed. This could easily become my new local for my mid-morning pick up. The coffee was excellent. I had a medium size with an extra shot and the strong coffee taste I was after. Their small, medium, large sizes are all what I consider to be size accurate and appropriate. The service was friendly and quick. Inside atmosphere was funky and appealing. There are a few undesirables hanging around outside but that’s pretty common for this street. Highly recommend trying the coffee.

A little nice cafe and promising vibes. I just come for good coffee but unfortunately Voodo Cafe’s coffee would not make it to my high rating list. Khaz! Coffee Rating 5/10

really good coffee here. and staff and service have been pretty good for us too. the best thing about Voodoo though, is that they're "always open" when you need good coffee in the city on the weekends or weekday late hours

We love the drinks we had here. The hot chocolate was delicious and had the right amount of cocao and almond milk. As most of us don't have any tolerance for milk. Not watery and bland at all. The cappuccino with milk, I was told it was very good. The young man who served as was friendly and very apologetic that the decaffeinated grinder broke down and unfortunately he was sorry we weren't able to have something else on the menu due to technical issues but we were still happy with our choices. It's in the city, so parking is at a premium, and it does pretty much sit in front of the bus and train stations. So there is that option. No toilet facilities. it's in the building that it shares. It can also be very disruptive outside and around the cafe as it has lots of traffic, so it is not a quiet place to sit and have a chat.

One of the places I visited when I was in Perth was Voodoo Coffee, I went here for breakfast and I got Iced Coffee & Plain Croissant The coffee was decent and I liked the sustainable packaging, the croissant was buttery too! The place was snug but nicely decorated, so don’t expect to always get a chair, but there were plenty of seats on the shopping centre’s area next to this cafe (near the elevators).

Good coffee. Can't believe one girl was working there alone on a busy night. There was a long line of customers and she had lots of coffees to make yet she remained calm and polite. I'd be loosing my shit. Her name was Mina i think? It began with an M anyway. She was great!
